Background 

 

In 2001, Congress directed the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to require the collection of more reliable data regarding homeless programs. HUD requires that every continum of care combine their efforts to implement a shared data network.

 

 

Saint Joesph County HMIS 

 

SJC HMIS is in the beginning stages of implementation. The aim of this system is to provide agencies a more comprehensive system for service delivery and access to an un-duplicated count of homeless individuals, information on the number of people who are homeless, related demographics, and their needs over time.

 

 

Mission Statement

 

The mission of SJC HMIS is to establish a streamlined service delivery system that advances the provision of quality services for homeless persons and improves the accessibility and availability of data to aid area agencies and funding partners.
